I was born to organize parties and events even though I can’t deal with stress and deadlines very well… Actually I get things at the right time but that period of time is absolutely not my favorite… But I love love organizing and planning things… And seeing the end result is just the part of the joy I get from these events.. Writing in scratch papers, doing grocery plans, writing down my daily plan is incredibly fun for me! So every time we go to a vacation I have to write all the days and write my outfits by time of the each day… So I can limit my luggage weight little bit! but still I am not a perfect luggage maker yet…
So Baby Shower is really not my expertise but one of my closest friend’s was having a baby so I was jumped to take the responsibly and start organizing things in three weeks! Read more »

In these days, it is so hard to make a decision to bake or cook… Because the recipes are for larger portions and I really do not need any more weight in my body! It is waste of time and energy after eating that much.. But, we are human and we need to taste different things in order to have joy in our lives! sad but it’s true.. food make me have fun in this life.. I am not ashamed but have to confess that it bothers me sometimes…
Anyway, enough with the psychology, let’s get back to our subject. So when the subject comes to muffins and cupcakes, I just stare at the perfect pictures of many many blogs I love. And then I am having hard time to ignore not to make them… Because I know if I make them I will eat just by myself.. I don’t understand what are boys having with sweet thing but they just don’t crave like girls! weird!
So most of the time I decide not to bake and then just crave for a muffin.. I was not sure about frozen food before I discovered Udi’s muffins. They are incredibly tasty when you heat them little bit in microwave. And you don’t have to unfreeze all of the package to eat only one.. And they can last up to 1 month in the freezer so it is perfect solution to my problem! Since I love love blueberries I bought and tried to consume as slow as possible! now I don’t have to worry when I want a muffin or when I am too lazy to find out all the ingredients to make just a simple muffin!
They are also easy to carry in a food bag and to bring everywhere you go..maybe to a breakfast that you may not find something for you… try it, you will love it!

One of the best things Berkeley made us to explore is Brazilian culture. We met so many people we loved and many of them were very similar in their way of communication and their beliefs as a human. It was so funny to discover that we were so similar with them although Turkey is so far away from Brazil. I had so much fun with Brazilians as well as eating their food too. I discovered that they are actually very gluten friendly cuisine…
So my friend took me to Brazilian market in Berkeley called Bossa Nova. Even the supermarket was so similar to Turkish design and atmosphere. So I bought the best things I liked…
All Gluten free!
My favorite Brazilian goods:
1. Pao de Queijo
3. Coconut Brigaderios (beijinho)

So hard to find energy in these days and do everything I need to do. Summer time in SF is almost over and I am writing during a totally depressing day with lots but lots of rain… After reading all my favorite blogs, I found enough energy to write what I had in my mind for a long time…
Regular crepes were also off limits for people who are in gluten free diets. And I was not sure that I could do easy one with not so many ingredients. It always makes me lazy when I see an incredible picture of a meal and than look their recipe and I get scared of all the ingredients they use.. It is always pain to have exact same ingredients with the internet recipes for gluten free items especially. That’s why I make my own recipes and not rely on them… I sometimes dream about bloggers to send those ingredients to me and I just make it that recipe at home.. why not? Read more »

I had a great meal last night in Venus restaurant in Berkeley and wanted to share with you. It’s a small and cozy restaurant in our neighborhood.
People are very open to gluten free substitutes but their main menu is 75% gluten free. Just avoid the sandwiches and that’s it…
I do highly recommend their berry lemonade which you see in the picture.

There are still so many gluten free items to discover in the Bay Area. I don’t have enough time to go everywhere and I also have no room in my body to eat all of them! I don’t want to follow the flow and besides I want to control my desires to taste new things because usually they are high in sugar level…
I also like to find new things spontaneously instead of going exactly to find what was I looking for… it’s totally different type of joy for me.. It was something like that when I was in Marina the other day. Read more »

It was my second time in LA this year. I think this is one of the best places to eat gluten free outside and inside. The options are huge.. The Sensitive Bakery, Pizza Fusion, Whole Foods, Outback Steakhouse are the first things coming to my mind.
Whole Foods was way bigger than the one here in Berkeley. And the gluten free options were much more than here. I couldn’t try so many new brands but I enjoyed just looking how brands can be creative while thinking gluten free items. The other thing is the Authentic Foods’ options were available in Whole Foods where here I only find them in a local bakery. I think I can live easily in LA!.. I envy people in LA who are gluten free! but no complains! since my experience in Turkey is still way limited than here!
So my best place was Pizza Fusion in Hollywood. I liked there thin crust made by themselves with bean flour and other ingredients. I liked their veggie pizza with mushrooms, zucchini, peppers and artichoke hearts… They even had gluten free beer in their menu. So if you are around there just go and have a great meal with no worries for your allergies! their eco-friendly environment is also impressing but that also makes them casual which I liked..
Here is the picture of the pizza…
